“The action of the water and waves in Carina’s paintings is all about texture and the play of sunlight on the surface which she captures beautifully and I was particularly drawn to ‘Breath of Life’ because of its connection to Michelangelo’s ‘Creation of Adam’ and how the dual triangular form of the painting mirrored the touching of the fingertips in the original. Some prints are more like photocopies but these are of the finest quality and I particularly love that the texture of the brushwork is recreated in them to a greater extent than is revealed in the online images.
